Studio 54 remains an icon of hedonistic revelry even today, more than thirty years after it closed down. Amazingly, the place was open for fewer than five years. In that time, it was the haunt of celebrities and stars from all walks of life: Andy Warhol, Jack Nicholson, Lionel Richie and on and on. The famed club might have had a longer run had not its owners been caught embezzling millions of dollars, evading tax payments and using improper permits.
